Day 63: Growing Sweet Basil Through Cutting

Immediately after getting new plants for the apartment, I set my eyes on growing more sweet basil through cutting. After reading a few sites on how to go about it, I ventured on the simple task of cutting and rooting new basil. SO simple that after just five days, my cutting has rooted.

Day 58: Apartment Goes Green

I have always been fascinated with life in general, including plant life. While I am not a garden enthusiast, nor have I tried seriously growing plants, I appreciate gardening and enjoy marveling at the growth of a plant. Just last week my flatmates have decided to keep some. So with a little research on which indoor plants good to keep in an apartment, we decided on the following list:

My Pick: 2013 Revisited

My 2013 was a blast. There were many ups and downs just like the years past, but there were few significant events that have made my 2013 like no other years that have gone by. The following are my pick for personal milestones and events of 2013.

Of Fishes and Me

I am excited as hell to get an aquarium tank in my room. Not that I never had one, but it has been a long time since my last tank. I used to have tropical freshwater tanks that had cichlids in it such as auratus, kennyi, convict and red empress. These Lake Malawi fishes were one of my favorites as they are very colorful, and easy to breed. The downside of owning cichlids is that they are very aggressive towards each other, and thus require a big tank.
